139-"An educated society is a prosperous society."-Ashley Colquitt, Senior Community Engagement Specialist at Diamondback Energy
What happens when a passion for helping students becomes a mission to change lives across an entire community?
On this episode of The Krista Escamilla Show, I'm sitting down with my friend Ashley Colquitt, Senior Community Engagement Specialist at Diamondback Energy, to talk about purpose, mentorship, workforce development, and what it takes to empower the next generation.
Ashley began her career as a special education teacher before transitioning into the corporate world, where she found new ways to make a difference. Today, she helps build meaningful partnerships between Diamondback Energy and local schools to create opportunities for students to develop confidence, learn valuable job skills, and prepare for their futures.
One of the programs close to her heart is the Rolling Barista program, which gives students with special needs hands-on work experience in a supportive environment where they can learn, practice, make mistakes, and grow without the fear of being penalized for learning along the way.
But Ashley's story doesn't stop at community engagement. She's also a wife, mom and bodybuilder. We talk about the discipline, training, and nutrition that fuel her fitness journey.
In this episode, we discuss:
✨ Ashley's journey from special education teacher to corporate community engagement
✨ How partnerships between schools and businesses can open doors for students
✨ The mission behind the Rolling Barista program
✨ Why mentorship, confidence, and hands-on workforce training matter
✨ Creating opportunities for students with special needs
✨ The discipline and dedication behind bodybuilding
✨ Training, nutrition, and lessons that carry over into everyday life
✨ Finding purpose and making a meaningful impact in your community
Ashley's story is a reminder that sometimes the biggest impact comes from finding new ways to do what you've always been passionate about: helping people reach their potential.
I'm so proud to call Ashley my friend, and I can't wait for you to hear her story!
